BODY OF WATER

holistic Water Based Yoga and somatic movement for deep healing

water is our first environment, surrounding us within the safety of our mothers womb. Our bodies are made of water all our organs, from our heart and lungs, kidneys and even our bones are predominantly liquid.

Our flexibility, vitality and wellbeing is dependant on how we move these waters of our body, how deeply we stretch, breathe and hydrate our ligaments and joints.

with time, Trauma to the structure of our body is slower to heal. often accessibility to physical movement and exercise become increasingly restricted and even painful.

water based practices allow the body to become weightless and supple to movement that would be challenging or unavailable on land. Supporting the bones and removing any pressure from the joints; the body is free to explore a wholy new level of movement,

utilising a rich blend of holistic therapies such as aqua yoga, the japanese aquatic bodywork of watsu, sound healing, meditation. breathing techniques and usui reiki within a floating environment, practitioners receive a deeply healing and restorative experience. proven to reduce anxiety and stress, relaxing muscle and join aches, promoting better blood oxygenation and flow, water based practices are safe for everyone who is comfortable in water, to experience.

“BODY of water” is a practice suitable to groups as well as single sessions.

  • on request, We are able to offer thoughtfully curated water based practices for those with a fear of water.

  • Low-impact exercise: The buoyancy of water supports the body, reducing the impact on knees, hips, and spine

  • Increases flexibility: With the support and gentle push of water, individuals often find they can move in ways they can’t on land. This increases the range of motion in joints and enhances overall flexibility.

  • Improved muscle tone, strength & weight loss: The resistance of water makes every movement a strength exercise, effectively helping tone and strengthen muscles. While Water-based exercises might seem easier due to the water’s buoyancy, they effectively burn a significant amount of calories, making aquatic workouts a powerful tool for weight management.

  • Enhanced cardiovascular health: The inherent pressure of water on the body helps circulate blood more efficiently, promoting cardiovascular health.

  • Improved balance and stability, better posture: water forces the body to constantly adjust, improving balance and stability, reducing the risk of falls and the likelihood of accidents. Over time it can result in better posture and balance, even outside the water.

  • Stress reduction & relaxation: Floating in water brings the parasympathetic system back into balance. the reduction of cortisol and adrenaline have been shown to lower stress, boost the mood, and cultivate deep rest and relaxation.

  • Supports athletes and promotes vasodilation: blood vessels dilate to allow better blood flow, easing high blood pressure. athletes bounce back faster with improved vasodilation as the body can more quickly flush out lactic acid after workouts. This helps recovery from sore muscles, pain, and stiffness.

  • Suitable for all ages & fitness levels: water based practices are adaptable and suitable for everyone, including pregnant women and seniors.

Restorative Karma Yoga class

Restorative yoga is a completely different experience than most other styles of yoga.It is a restful practice that encourages you to slow down and open your body through passive stretching.

The benefits of restorative yoga are similar to the many benefits of other styles of yoga, including:Increased relaxation.
